Storage of Explosives and Blasting Agents. <br />Pursuant to Subsection 5601.1 of the California Fire Code, the storage of explosives <br />and blasting agents is prohibited in residential areas, principal business districts, closely - <br />built commercial areas and heavily -populated areas, except as permitted by local City or <br />County ordinances with the approval of the Fire Department. <br />15.16.030. Section 101.1 amended. Section 101.1 of the California Fire Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br />101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Fire Code of the City of Colton, <br />hereinafter referred to as "this code." <br />15.16.035. Section 103.2 amended. Section 103.3 of the California Fire Code is <br />hereby amended to read as follow: <br />103.2 Appointment. The fire code official shall be appointed by the chief <br />appointing authority of the jurisdiction. <br />15.16.040. Section 104 amended. Section 104 of the California Fire Code is <br />amended by adding the following: <br />104.12 Cost Recovery. Fire Suppression, Investigations and Rescue or Emergency <br />Medical Costs are recoverable in accordance with Health and Safety Code Sections <br />13009 and 123009.1. <br />15.16.050. Section 105.6 of Chapter 1 amended. Section 105.6 of the California <br />Fire Code is hereby amended by adding the following subsections: <br />105.6.3.1 Battery Systems. An operational permit is required for a stationary storage <br />battery system as regulated by section 608 of the Fire Code. <br />105.6.15.1 Fixed Hood and Duct Extinguishing Systems. An operational permit is <br />required to utilize commercial cooking appliances, as defined in section 202, with a <br />fixed hood, duct and cooking appliance fire extinguishing system. <br />105.6.33.1 Pallet Yards. An operational permit is required to store, manufacture, <br />refurbish or otherwise handle >200 cubic ft of combustible pallets at one site. <br />15.16.060. Section 109.3 of Chapter 1 amended. Section 109.4 of the California Fire <br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />109.4 Violation penalties. Persons who shall violate a provision of this code or shall <br />fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, install, alter, <br />repair or do work in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of <br />the fire code official, or of a permit or certificate used under provisions of this code, <br />shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. Each and every day, or portion thereof, during <br />which any such violation is committed, continued, or permitted, is a separate offense. <br />Any such violation shall be punishable by such fines and penalties as described in <br />Chapter 8.12 of the Colton Municipal Code. <br />23152.06300\8351650.2 - 10 - <br />
