2 <br />0 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />and may include the construction company's name, addresses and telephone number. <br />"Copy" means the words, letters, numbers, figures, designs, or other symbolic <br />representations incorporated into a sign. <br />"Directional sign" means any sign intended to be permanently affixed and utilized only <br />for the purpose of indicating the direction of any object, place, or area. <br />"Development services director" means the development services director of the city of <br />Colton or his or her designee. <br />"Field" means the part of the sign with no letters or logos. <br />"Freeway -oriented sign" means a sign, located on property which is adjacent to a freeway <br />and meant to be seen from the freeway. <br />"Frontage, public" means that side of a building facing onto a public street, mall <br />(pedestrian courtyard), or parking area. <br />"Frontage, street" means that side of a lot abutting a public street. <br />"Future tenant identification sign" means a temporary sign not exceeding thirty-two <br />square feet in area that identifies a future use of a site or building. <br />"Grand opening sign" means a banner not exceeding thirty-two square feet in area that <br />promotes the opening of a new business or use at a site or building. <br />"Graphic" means a symbol, pattern, or image used to advertise a product of a company, <br />business, or organization and includes, but is not limited to, trademark logos. <br />"Inflatable balloon sign" means a sign consisting of balloons, inflatables or similar air, <br />helium or hydrogen filled materials, including balloons and inflatables made of metallic and cloth <br />material, no matter the size that is used to attract attention. <br />"Kiosk sign" means an advertising and directional sign sponsored by the local building <br />industry association or other local business and/or civic association and approved by the planning <br />commission and/or city council to advertise future residential subdivisions, residential planned <br />communities or local business promotions and civic events sponsored by such associations. <br />"Logo" means a proprietary graphic and/or text used as an identifying mark of a company, <br />business, or organization. For purposes of this chapter, logos shall be limited to registered <br />trademarks, with proof of trademark from the United States Department of Treasury, for <br />companies with a minimum of five (5) operating stores/locations. <br />"Marquee" means any permanent roof -like structure projecting beyond a building or <br />extending along and projecting beyond the wall of the building for a distance of five or more feet, <br />generally designed and constructed to provide protection from the weather. <br />"Marquee sign" means any sign attached to, in any manner, or made a part of a marquee. <br />"Monument sign" means a freestanding sign less than six feet in height which is detached <br />
