El <br />0 <br />7 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />square feet in area that promotes the opening of a new business or <br />use at a site or building. <br />"Inflatable balloon sign" means a sign consisting of balloons, <br />inflatables or similar air, helium or hydrogen filled materials, <br />including balloons and inflatables made of metallic and cloth <br />material, no matter the size that is used to attract attention. <br />"Kiosk sign" means an advertising and directional sign sponsored <br />by the local building industry association or other local business <br />and/or civic association and approved by the planning commission <br />and/or city council to advertise future residential subdivisions, <br />residential planned communities or local business promotions and <br />civic events sponsored by such associations. <br />"Logo" means a proprietary graphic used as an identifying mark of <br />a company, business, or organization. For purposes of this chapter, <br />logos shall be limited to registered trademarks. <br />"Marquee" means any permanent roof -like structure projecting <br />beyond a building or extending along and projecting beyond the <br />wall of the building for a distance of five or more feet, generally <br />designed and constructed to provide protection from the weather. <br />"Marquee sign" means any sign attached to, in any manner, or <br />made a part of a marquee. <br />"Monument sign" means a freestanding sign less than six feet in <br />height which is detached from a building and having a support <br />structure that is a solid-appearing base constructed of a permanent <br />material, such as concrete block or brick. All other freestanding <br />sign types shall be either "Pole Sign" or "Pylon Sign." See Figure <br />18.50-1 (Monument Sign). <br />Figure 18.50-1: Monument Sign <br />"Multi -tenant center" means a property or combination of <br />properties containing two or more businesses and which share <br />common parking, driveway and access areas. <br />"Noncommercial flag" means any cloth, paper, canvas, light -weight <br />fabric or other non -rigid material that identifies the United States, <br />the State of California and other countries and states, counties and <br />municipalities, nationally recognized organizations or corporations, <br />23152.06300\6941313.1 <br />-4- <br />
