Woods (excused) <br /> <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br /> <br />• Recognition of Lieutenant Ray Mendez, Sergeant Daniel Lunt and Corporal Terry Sidur who were <br />promoted on January 11, 2020 <br />Police Captain Dominguez introduce the newly promoted staff of the City of Colton Police Department: Police <br />Lieutenant Ray Mendez; Sergeant Daniel Lunt; and Corporal Terry Sidur. <br /> <br />• Recognition of Officer Todd Smith in receiving runner up for the Betty J. France Humanitarian Award <br />Police Captain Dominguez acknowledged the following recognition given to Officer Todd Smith of the City of <br />Colton Police Department: Officer Smith was awarded The NASCAR Foundation Betty Jane France <br />Humanitarian Award; this is a national recognition award; Officer Todd was runner up for his Fuel For Success <br />Mentor Program; the award was presented on December 5, 2019 during the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup <br />Series Awards at Music City Center in Nashville. The NASCAR Foundation donated $100,000 to the charity <br />represented by the award winner and $25,000 to each of the other three finalists’ charities; Officer Todd Smith a <br />NASCAR fan since 2007 (when he attended his first race at Auto Club Speedway) has volunteered for 12 years, <br />introducing at-risk students to NASCAR while fostering better relationships between students and police <br />officers; the award cites the following: “Within our daily lives, it’s important to remember just how fortunate <br />we are…. And to lend a helping hand to those in need.
