2016 NOVEMBER 15 REG CC/SARDA/CUA/CPFA/CHA MEETING 6 - (17) Amendment to Municipal Code Relating to Executive Assistant to the Council/Office Manager and section 2.04.040 itself - Waive full reading and introduce by title only Ordinance No. O -25-16, an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Colton amending the title of Section 2.04.040 of Chapter 2.04 of the Colton Municipal Code relating to the Executive Assistant to the Council/Office Manager and Section 2.04.040 itself, ORDINANCE NO. O-25-16. Staff Presentation Asst. City Attorney Martinez presented this item for Council consideration and action; previously in 2014 action was taken by Council to retitle and reallocate the position, however, the title in the Colton Municipal Code has not been amended to reflect this reclassification; Item 18 of the Agenda cannot go forward at this time until Council will waive full reading and introduce by title only Ordinance No. O-25-16; and in order to allow this proposed ordinance to become effective sooner, Council may consider adjourning the November 15, 2016 Regular City Council meeting to a date and time certain five days later, at which time this proposed ordina nce can be adopted (second reading). Motion and Second by Mayor DeLaRosa/CM Jorrin to waive full reading, read by title only, introduce Ordinance No. O-25-16; and adjourn meeting to Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. to waive full reading and pass second reading of Ordinance No. O-25-16. Vote: Motion carried with CM Bennett absent. (18) Employment Agreement for the Executive Administrator to the Mayor and Council – Approve the employment agreement between the City of Colton and the Executive Administrator to the Mayor and Council. Motion and Second by CM Navarro/ CM González to continue Item 18 to Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. Vote: Motion carried with CM Bennett absent. MAYOR AND COUNCIL ORAL REPORTS AND COMMENTS Council Members made comments on various issues and activities throughout the community. CITY MANAGER’S REPORTS City Manager Smith referred Council to the conceptual design on the dais for the newest business welcome packet; asked for Council feedback before the packed is finalized for distribution by staff.
