CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 1997 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date <br />at 6:00 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Mayor Gaytan invited CM Cook to lead the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Pastor Bob Johnson offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present were Councilmember Don Sanders, Councilmember John Hutton, Councilmember <br />Kelly Chastain, Councilmember Betty Cook, Councilmember Deirdre Bennett, <br />Councilmember David Sandoval and Mayor Gaytan. Also present were Interim City Manager <br />Wood, City Attorney Biggs and City Clerk Barrera. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Interim City Manager Wood asked that the additional subject of Interim Personnel Director be <br />added to Closed Session Item D, based on subsequent need. City Attorney Biggs advised that the <br />action would require two-thirds vote of the Council. <br />Motion/second by CM Sandoval/Cook to accept Staffs recommendation and add the subject of <br />Interim Personnel Director to Closed Session Item D, to be heard first in order. Unanimous vote. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to <br />Government Code §54957.6, to confer with its Labor Negotiator, Gracie Fernandez Harmon, <br />regarding negotiations with representatives of the Fire, Police Rank & File and Police Management <br />Bargaining Units. <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session to confer with <br />Legal Counsel regarding one matter of pending litigation, pursuant to the provisions of <br />Government Code § 54956.9(b): Club 215 v. City of Colton <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session to confer with <br />Legal Counsel regarding two matters of significant exposure to potential litigation, pursuant to the <br />provisions of Government Code §54956.9(b). <br />City Attorney Biggs announced that the City Council would meet in Closed Session, pursuant to <br />Government Code §54957, with respect to public employee appointment: City Manager and <br />Interim Personnel Director, <br />SEP 16 1997 <br />City Council Minutes September 16, 1997 1 <br />
