CITY OF COLTON <br />{ CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 <br />Regular Meeting held on the above -given date at 6:20 P. M., in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall, with Mayor Bennett, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />City Manager Daryl Parrish led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION <br />Chaplain Bob Johnson led the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PRESENT <br />CM Donald J. Sanders CM Richard A. DeLaRosa <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain CM Helen A. Ramos <br />CM Sarah S. Zamora Mayor Deirdre H. Bennett <br />i <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />City Manager Parrish City Attorney Carvalho <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />Councilmember Sanders made a brief statement regarding his entry of plea of guilty <br />earlier in the day in federal court, as a result of recent indictments handed down from <br />the United States District Court. <br />He also announced that legal opinion by the City Attorney stated he may not continue <br />to participate as a sitting councilmember and until further clarification of the opinion is <br />researched he would voluntarily remove himself from the dais for the balance of the <br />council meeting. <br />At 6:28 p.m. Councilmember Sanders left the dais for the balance of the agenda. <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />Dennis Byas, Superintendent, Colton Joint Unified School District, provided a brief <br />z overview regarding the upcoming school bond Measure B on the September 25, 2001, <br />election ballot. He stated that passage of this measure would generate $102 million for <br />1 <br />
