1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-07-96 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON CREATING CHAPTER <br />3.38 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br />ESTABLISHING A LATE CHARGE ON <br />ANY DELINQUENT ACCOUNT RECEIVABLE. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: Chapter 3.38 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby <br />created to read in its entirety as follows: <br />"CHAPTER 3.38 <br />LATE CHARGES/ REDUCTION INCENTIVE <br />Sections: <br />3.38.010 Fees, Billings, Charges, and Taxes Made A Civil Debt. <br />3.38.020 Late Charges On Delinquent Accounts Receivable <br />3.38.030 Reduction for Early Payment on Qualified Accounts <br />Receivable <br />3.38.010 Fee, Billings, Charges, And Taxes Made A Civil Debt <br />The amount of any fee, billing for damage to City property, service charge, utility <br />charge, license, permit, or tax of any nature whatsoever imposed by any <br />provision of this code shall be deemed a civil debt owing to the City. An action <br />may be commenced in the name of the City in any court of competent jurisdiction <br />for the collection of the amount of any delinquent or unpaid fee, billing for <br />damage to City property, service charge, utility charge, license, permit, or tax, <br />together with any penalties applicable thereto as prescribed by this code. The <br />remedy prescribed by this section shall be accumulative, and the use of an <br />action to collect such an amount as a debt by civil action shall not bar the use of <br />any other remedy provided by this code or by law for the purposes of enforcing <br />the provisions thereof. <br />
