.-t <br /> 1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2280 <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton that Resolution <br /> No. 2240 be amended to read as follows: F? <br /> RULE XI ATTENDANCE AND LEAVES <br /> Section 1. Annual vacation leave: All employees shall be entitled to annual <br /> vacation leave with pay except: <br /> a. Employees still serving the first six months of their original <br /> probationary period of service <br /> b. Employees who work on an intermittent or seasonal basis, <br /> employees who work less than half time and provisional <br /> and temporary employees. <br /> Section 2. Amount of annual leave: Eligible employees with over one year of • <br /> continuous service shall normally be entitled to two weeks of vacation and those with <br /> over ten years continuous service to three weeks. Fractional earnings shall be com- <br /> puted at the rate of 5/6 working days per month worked up to ten years of service and <br /> 1 1/4 days for service beyond ten years. Eligible employees who work less than full <br /> time shall earn vacation credits on a pro-rated basis. <br /> Section 3. Use of annual leave: Each eligible employee shall be required to <br /> have served the equivalent of one year of continuous service in the city in order to be <br /> eligible for his first full annual vacation leave; provided, however, that after six <br /> months of continuous service he may be permitted to take vacation leave not to exceed <br /> 5 working days. <br /> Section 4. Scheduling annual leave: An employee's vacation may be taken any <br /> time during the calendar year (the year beginning in January). The specific time shall <br /> be determined by the apartment Head with due regard for the wishes of the employee <br /> and particular regard for the needs of the service. Specifically, this means that after <br /> one full calendar year in service an employee may be granted his vacation prior to his <br /> anniversary date. The three weeks vacation may be scheduled any time during the <br /> calendar year following ten years of service. If the requirements of the service are <br /> such that an employee must defer part or all of his annual vacation in a particular <br /> calendar year, the appointing authority may permit the employee to take such deferred <br /> vacation during the following calendar year. <br /> Section 5. Deferring annual leave: No employee may accumulate more than <br /> 20 working days of vacation leave. Any eligible employee, with the consent of the <br /> head of his department, may defer one calendar week of his annual vacation to the <br /> succeeding calendar year, subject to the other provisions of this rule. A written re- <br /> port of each deferred vacation, signed by the proper Department Head, noting the <br /> details, shall be kept on file with the Personnel Officer. <br />
