1 RESOLUTION NO 2555 2 RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BE ErT INITIATED By TuE rOUNCIL OF 3 THE CITY OF COLTON TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED 4 HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SOUTH COLTON ANNEXATION NO. 14" AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE 5 PROPOSED ANNEXATION. 6 I BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON: 7 1, That, pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited 8 Territory Act of 1939, proceedings have been initiated by the Council of the City 9 of Colton, on its own motion, to annex to the City of Colton all that uninhabited 10 territory situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, hereby 11 designated as "South Colton Annexation No. 14" and described as follows: 12 That portion of Block 88, Rancho San Bernardino as recorded in Book 7 of Maps, Page 2; and those portions of Sections 31 and 32, 13 Township 1 South, Range 4 West, San Bernardino Base and Merl- dian, Jurupa Rancho, as recorded in Book 1, Page 47, records of 14 San Bernardino County, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: 15 Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Lot 1, Rosedale 16 Tract, as recorded in Book 12 of Maps, Page 41, and the west right of way line of State Highway No. 43, said point being on the corporate 17 boundary of the City of Colton; thence westerly along the north boundary of said Rosedale Tract, following all its various courses 18 and distances to the most southerly corner of Lot 7 of said Rosedale Tract; thence north 13° east along the east line of said Lot 7 a dis- 19 tance of 83. 2 feet; thence south 89 0 12' west a distance of 323, 29 feet to the east line of Bostick Avenue; thence northerly along the 20 east line of said Bostick Avenue to the northwest boundary of Lot 6 of said Rosedale Tract; thence northeasterly along the northwest 21 boundary of said Lot 6 to the southwest corner of Lot 7 of said Rosedale Tract; thence northeasterly along the west boundary of 22 said Lot 7 to the northwest corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly along the northerly boundary of said Lot 7 to the most northeasterly 23 corner of said Lot 7; thence easterly to a point in the west line of said Rancho San Bernardino, said point being northwesterly a 24 distance of 1572. 67 feet from the southerly corner of said Block 88 of Rancho San Bernardino; thence south 80 °38' east to the east line 25 of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company right of way; thence northerly along said east right of way line to its intersection with 26 the south line of the Santa Ana River Wash as established in 1859; thence northerly and easterly along said south line of the Santa Ana 27 River to its intersection with the centerline of a street shown passing between Block 80 and Block 88, as shown on said plat of 28 Rancho San Bernardino, said street being known as Washington Street; thence easterly along said centerline ;o a point which is west 29. 1680 feet along the centerline of said Wasnington Street from the east line of Block 88, Rancho San Bernardino; thence southeasterly a dis- 30 tance of 2325 feet, more or less, along the corporate limits of the City of Colton to the northerly right of way line of State Highway 31 No,, 43; thence leaving the corporate boundary of the City of Colton northeasterly along said northerly right of way line to its inter- 32 section with the east line of Lot 1, Block 88, Rancho San Bernardino;
