I <br /> 6 <br /> 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2 612 <br /> 2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> 3 COLTON AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FROM THE <br /> PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> 4 UNDER PUBLIC LIBRARY DEVELOPMENT ACT AND <br /> ALLIED SECTIONS OF THE EDUCATION CODE. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 WHEREAS, the Colton Public Library is not at present meeting minimum <br /> 7 standards of library service; and <br /> 8 WHEREAS, estimated population increases indicate that there may be <br /> 9 about 47,500 people in the City of Colton in 1980 to whom library service will <br /> 10 need to be given. <br /> 11 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br /> 12 <br /> Colton, does hereby authorize the making of an Application for a Per Capita <br /> 13 <br /> Grant from the Public Library Board of the State of California under the provisions <br /> 14 <br /> 15 of the Public Library Development Act of 1963, Chapter 1.5, Division 20 of the <br /> 16 California Education Code (Sections 27111-27147), as amended in 1965, in <br /> 17 order to join and participate in a cooperative library system as indicated in <br /> 18 Section 27125c of said Education Code. <br /> 19 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colton , <br /> 20 <br /> approves the Plan of Service, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a <br /> 21 <br /> 22 part hereof by reference, for cooperation between the Colton Public Library and <br /> 23 the San Bernardino County Free Library as prepared by the Librarian of the <br /> 24 Colton Public Library and the Librarian of the San Bernardino County Free Library, <br /> 25 and of minor charges which may be recommended by both librarians . <br /> 26 PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 4th day of September, 1965 <br /> 27 <br /> 2.8 yor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> 29 ct <br /> 30 City--Clerk <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
