CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF August 5, 1997 <br />HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: LEN WOOD, INTERIM CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: ALAN J. SORK, FIRE MARSHAL FORL <br />TOM HENDRIX, ACTING FIRE CHIEF <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing to adopt a report and statement of expenses for the <br />Weed Abatement Program and to consider imposing a lien upon <br />property for payment thereof. <br />DATE: July 22, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />During the Regular Meeting of April 1, 1997, the City Council approved Resolution Number <br />R-29-97 declaring weeds, rubbish and refuse a Public Nuisance and subject to abatement in <br />accordance with the City's adopted standards. <br />Additionally, the Resolution authorized the Fire Chief to approve a contractor to perform the <br />abatement, to charge an administrative fee, and to place all Contractor's fees plus <br />administrative fees on the San Bernardino County Tax Rolls for collection. <br />DISCUSSION <br />At this time, abatement has been completed and staff has prepared a written Report of Costs <br />on those completed parcels for which payment had not been received prior to August 5, 1997. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />T, <br />Item No. 26 <br />
