r <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 4, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: MALIK DANTALA FREEMAN, CITY MANAGER-~ <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR�`�s <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE REVISION TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF <br />WELDER/WATER SERVICE WORKER <br />DATE: JANUARY 27, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: Attached is the revised job description for the classification of Welder/Water Service <br />Worker as recommended by the department head; salary range is $2,162- $2,625 per month. There is <br />currently one authorized position for this classification, which is presently vacant. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Organizational changes in the Water and Wastewater Department necessitated <br />the revision of the job description. <br />Changes to the job description are as follows: <br />1. Added experience requirement of three years of increasingly responsible experience in the <br />construction, maintenance or repair of water meters and water systems, includine some experience <br />in a lead capacity. <br />2. Added license and certificate requirement of Grade I AWWA Distribution Operator Certificate and <br />a valid California Class B driver's license with acceptable driving record. <br />FINANCIAL INIPACT: This is an enterprise fund position and is funded for the 1996-97 fiscal year as <br />follows: Account No. 521-8100-8101-1010 (salary) and Account No. 521-8100-8101-1100 (salary related <br />benefits). <br />Thomas K.
