CLARKE, UTILITY DI�ECTOR'Ak-"/ <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 IN THE AMOUNT OF $19,625 <br />TO THE CONTRACT WITH KRIEGER AND STEWART FOR THE <br />WASTEWATER EXPANSION AND RENOVATION PROJECT <br />DATE: APRIL 8, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On February 3, 1998 Council approved Change Order No. 1 in the Amount of $35,000 <br />for Bid Preparation and Award. The change order was required due to the time <br />constraints within the Regional Water Quality Control Board's Cease and Desist <br />schedule. Krieger and Stewart provided the following assistance to the City beyond <br />their original scope of work: <br />1. Bidding document reproduction ($9,000) <br />2. SRF loan coordination during bidding process and award ($6,000) <br />3. Design and prepare plans and specifications for the replacement <br />of the digester cover ($20,000) <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />The actual costs for the bidding document reproduction and SRF loan coordination <br />during process and award exceeded the estimated costs by $19,625. The additional <br />costs were incurred as follows: <br />1. Bidding document reproduction <br />2.
