CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 17, 1998 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor & Cityuncil <br />APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manag <br />14TNFROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director <br />Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager <br />SUBJECT: Request For Recruitment And Ratification Of Employee <br />Appointments To The Part -Time Positions Of Facility Monitor In The <br />Neighborhood Services Division For Fiscal Year 98/99 <br />DATE: November 4, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: There are six vacant Facility Monitor positions in the Human Resource <br />Department. Attached is the job description for the classification: the salary is based on an hourly <br />rate of $ 5.50. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position is classified as "on-going". Recruitment's <br />are conducted and eligibility lists established, as needed throughout the year. The rate of <br />employee turnover is higher then those of full-time positions. The candidates chosen will meet the <br />education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this approved position in the fiscal year 1998-99 <br />budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6200-6202-1040-0000-000. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As vacancies occur. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: In order to maintain the current open hours of operation, <br />adequate Facility Monitors are needed to staff the facilities and insure client safety and access to <br />city program and activities. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of part-time <br />Facility Monitor as vacancies occur, not to exceed the positions and salaries approved in the fiscal <br />budget. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Prepared By: Alan Denfeld <br />C:/wdata/memo/facilitymonitors <br />11/5/98 Tm 14 <br />
