Parrish, Assistant City Manager <br />SUBJECT: Resolution Relinquishing Cal -Trans Right of Way at Steel Road <br />And Interstate 215 to the City of Colton <br />DATE: September 7, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On September 1, 1998, the State of California Department of Transportation sent <br />notification to the City of Colton that it was prepared to relinquish responsibility, rights, <br />title, and interest associated with the portion of Steel Road at Interstate 215, as <br />identified in the attachment. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Although it has always been our position that the right of way identified in the <br />attachment belongs to Colton, we are in a position to accept the State of Califomia's <br />relinquishment of the aforementioned right of way. Furthermore, the City proposes to <br />agree with the State to waive the required ninety -day notice, as set forth in Section 73 <br />of the State Streets and Highway Code by banging the attached Resolution before the <br />City Council. <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />None. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution NO. <br />LU-9S'relinquishing State right of way at Steel Road and Interstate 215 to the City <br />of Colton and waiving the required ninety -day notification requirement. <br />Attachments <br />Item # 21 <br />
