CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For City Council Meeting of August 3, 199 TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manager/, FROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Director Alan Denfeld, Recreation Services Manager SUBJECT: Request For Recruitment and Ratification Of Employee Appointment To The Full -Time Position Of Maintenance Worker III in the Neighborhood Services Division of the Human Resource Department for Fiscal Year 99/00. DATE: July 20, 1999 BACKGROUND: 'Mere is currently one vacant Maintenance Worker III Position in the Parks Division of the Neighborhood Services Division, which was created by the promotion of an employee to the newly created Parks Crew Leader Position. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted as "Closed Promotional" and an eligibility list established. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this position, in the fiscal year 1999-00 budget is as follows: Account No. 100-6200-6205- 1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6200-6205-1100 (salary related benefits). CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position is required in order to effectively provide the continued level of parks maintenance as required by the citizens of Colton. EXPECTED FILL DATE: August 15, 1999 RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approves the "closed promotional" recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to the full-time position of Maintenance Worker III as recommended by the Human Resource Director.
