HUTTON, PUBLIC WORKS DIREC iw <br />SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR AWARD OF CONTRACT TO LOWEST RESPONSIBLE <br />BIDDER FOR THE 1999-2000 PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT <br />DATE: September 27, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Proposed Street Paving Program for Fiscal Year 1999/2000 Pavement Rehabilitation Project <br />consists of rehabilitation, via 2" Cold Plane & 2" AC Overlay, of various existing streets. The Public <br />Works Department personnel based project location selections upon input from the State Mandated IMS <br />Program and a visual inspection. <br />Bid Opening for the City of Colton 199912000 Pavement Rehabilitation Project was held on <br />September 7, 1999; one sole Bid Proposals was submitted. <br />1. Matich Corporation $1,147,805.20 <br />Matich Corporation meets all the requirements asked for in the specifications and has been designated <br />as the Lowest Responsible Bidder with a Total Bid Amount of $1,147,805.20 <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYSIS: <br />Matich Corporation was the sole bidder on the 1999\2000 Pavement Rehabilitation Project. After careful <br />review of the Bid Proposal, staff found documents to be in order ancL in fact, Matich Corporation meets all <br />the requirements set Ext] in the bid specifications. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />All funds being utilized for this project are from Gas Tax, Measure 1, and Transportation funding sources. <br />Project account number: 457-6400-6411-3890, 457-6500-6509-3890, 457-6700-6710-3890, <br />457-6700-6509-3890, 457-6700-6917-3890, 249-6900-6917-3890, 249-6900-6411-3890. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that City Council award the 1999/2000 Pavement Rehabilitation Project <br />construction contract in the amount of $1,147,805.20 to Matich Corporation and to authorize the <br />appropriation of funds for this contract. <br />Report prepared by James King <br />Attachment: 1.
