CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 21, 1999 TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council APPROVAL: Henry Garcia, City Manager \ FROM: Dennis Morris, Human Resource Directorx SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the full time position of Recreation Services Manager in the Community Center Division of the Human/Neighborhood Services Department. DATE: September 15,1999 BACKGROUND: There is a need for one (1) Recreation Services Manager position in the Human/ Neighborhood Services Department. Attached is the job description of the classification; the salary range is $3855 - 4686 per month. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: The Recreation Services Manager assists in the daily operation of the Neighborhood Services Division and also, as of July V, the supervision of the Parks and LLMD (Landscape, Lighting and Maintenance Districts). This position is currently vacant. Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this general fund position in the fiscal year 99/00 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6200-6202-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6200-6202-1100 (salary related benefits). EXPECTED FILL DATE: November 1, 1999 CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: To continue the increased quality of customer service for the Colton Citizens and the services/programs for all (3) three centers. RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to the position of Recreation Services Manager as recommended by the Human Resource Director.
