Hugh Margesson, Childcare Director <br />SUBJECT: Approve and Accept Renovation and Repair Grant for Community <br />Childcare <br />DATE: June 19, 2002 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />For the past thirteen years Community Childcare has provided latchkey services for school-age <br />children (5-12 years of age). Periodically, the State makes funds available in the form of grants <br />for renovation and repair to existing facilities. <br />ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: <br />The Community Childcare Division applied for one such grant in the amount of $10,400. The <br />grant was earmarked for new furnishings in the form of tables, chairs, and cubbies. It can also <br />be used to assist in the renovation of Latchkey facilities to meet licensing standards. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br />There is no general fund impact. The grant funds should be placed in Special Revenue Account <br />#206-5773, while increasing the appropriation in expenditure account #206-7200-7206-2301 by <br />$10,400. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the acceptance of the Renovation and Repair Grant in the amount of <br />$10,400. <br />Resolution Attached <br />REVIEW TEAM ONLY, rI <br />City Attorney: a,QC 4t Finance Director: <br />City Manager: OTHER: <br />
