SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />JOINED WITH THE COLTON JOINT UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />BOARD OF EDUCATION <br />October 22, 2003 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, a Special Meeting Joint Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton and the Board of Education of the Colton Joint Unified School <br />District was held on the above given date at 6:35 p.m., in the Arrowhead Regional Medical <br />Center located at 400 North Pepper Avenue, Colton, California, Oak Room, with Mayor Bennett <br />and President Ibarra presiding. <br />Said Special Meeting shall be for the purpose of studying and or discussion on the following <br />matters: <br />Councilmembers present were (Sarah) Zamora, Mitchell, Ramos, Chastain, De La Rosa, <br />Hernandez and Mayor Bennett. Also present were City Manager Parrish, City Attorney <br />Martinez and Deputy City Clerk Flores. <br />Board of Education members present were Armenta, Lopez -Carson, Brinker, Mendoza -Ware, <br />Taylor, (David) Zamora and President Ibarra. Also present were Superintendent Byas, and <br />Executive Assistant Estrada. <br />Mayor Deirdre Bennett led the pledge of allegiance. <br />City Manager Daryl Parrish gave a short PowerPoint presentation and brief synopsis of the <br />current City Fiscal Condition, make up of current budget due to State cutbacks and projected <br />budget deficit in upcoming years. <br />♦ Colton High School DECA Club - Club Officers each provided a brief presentation of <br />duties and goals. <br />Board member Marge Mendoza -Ware explained the importance of school attendance as it <br />2003 OCT 22 SPEC JOINED CJUSD BOARD OF EDUCATION 1 <br />
