ORDINANCE NO. 1366 <br />i 0 COLTON CALIFORNIA, <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY F , <br />REGULATING THE DISCHARGE OF WASTES INTO THE SEWERAGE <br />2 SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF COLTON AND REPEALING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1331, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF THE <br />'s SEWERAGE AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON does ordain as follows: <br />5 ARTICLE I - Preamble <br />6 Section 1. The sewerage system of the City of Colton discharges <br />7 treated effluent into permeable soil structures. The chemical nature of this <br />8 effluent affects the quality of water flowing in the receiving stream as well <br />9 as the quality of underground waters in the vicinity. <br />10 Regional Water Quality Control Board No. 8 of the State of California <br />11 has established limitations upon the chemical content of sewage effluent <br />12 discharged by the City of Colton, said limitations being reflected by <br />13 Resolution No. 61-17 (4-66) attached hereto or such subsequent amendments as <br />14 I shall be duly adopted from time to time by the Santa Ana River Regional Water <br />15 Quality Control Board; and <br />16 The City of Colton must regulate the flow of certain wastes I.T0:0 <br />1711 its sewerage system. <br />18 Section 2. Unless the context specifically indicates otherwise, the <br />:L0 meaning of the terms used in this Article shall be as follows: <br />20 "Person" shall mean any individual, firm, company, association, <br />21 society, corporation, or group, and includes the plural as well as the singular. <br />22 "Public Sewer" shall mean any sewer located in or maintained by the <br />23 City of Colton in which all owners of abutting property have equal rightsi <br />2411 the term as here used does not include storm drains or channels for conveyance <br />25 of r -.ural surface waters. <br />26 "Public Works Director" shall mean the Public Works Director of the <br />27 City of Colton or his authorized representative or deputy. <br />28 11Plumbing Official" shall mean the Director of Building and Safety <br />29 of the City of Colton or his authorized representative or deputy. <br />30 "Industrial Waste Water" shall mean the waste water arising from or <br />31 associated with an industrial operation.
