CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For Council Meeting of <br />December 6, 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: Randy Anstine, Director of Recreation & Human Services <br />SUBJECT: Consideration and Ratification of Award of Bid For <br />Materials Testing For The Community Center Project <br />DATE: November 22„ 1994 <br />REC0AUKENDATION: <br />Based upon the analysis of the bids as accepted by the Project Contract Manager, City <br />staff and the Contract Manager recommend ratification of the bid award for Materials <br />Testing to Montana Testing and Geotechnical, Inc., (lowest responsible bidder). <br />POSSIBLE COUNCIL ACTIONS: <br />1. Approve as recommended by staff; or, <br />2. Reject any or all bids; or <br />3. Deny. <br />AUTHORITY: <br />The California Government Code and the City of Colton Municipal Code, address the <br />requirements and procedures for public works contracts and notice inviting bids. Every <br />project involving an expenditure of more than five thousand dollars for the construction or <br />improvement of public buildings, works, streets, draix:a, sewers, utilities, parks, and play <br />grounds shall be let by contract to the lowest responsible bidder, after notice by publication. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In accordance with the Contract Management Agreement between the City and Steward <br />and Associates, (the "agreement"), Steward and Associates with Rod McDonald acting on <br />behalf of Steward and Associates, (the "contract" and the "project" manager), sent out <br />Requests for Proposals for Materials Testing for the Community Center Project, with a <br />deadline for submission of November 5, 1994, at 5:00 p.m. <br />The Contract Manager has accepted proposals as indicated below and the City must now <br />consider and ratify award of the bids under the terms of the Agreement. <br />s <br />
