CITY OF COLTON �oF <br />U %orvorat. ,Z <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />1887 <br />a I <br />fol <br />For Council Meeting of September 6, 1994 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: August 31, 1994 <br />FROM: Gracie Fernandez Harmon <br />Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: ADOPT JOB DESCRIPTION AND SALARY RANGE FOR REDEVELOPMENT <br />ACCOUNTANT, UNFREEZE POSITION AND RATIFY APPOINTMENT OF NEW <br />EMPLOYEE <br />BACKGROUND <br />Council approved the position of Senior Accountant in the 1993-94 City Budget under the direction of the <br />Finance Director. The Senior Accountant position performs a variety of complex professional accounting duties <br />in municipal finance specifically redevelopment financial activities. The Economic Redevelopment Director <br />has requested that this function be made clear for the said position. The position will still be receiving <br />direction from the Finance Director but, in coordination with the Economic Development <br />Director/Redevelopment Agency Director. A new job description has been developed reflecting this emphasis <br />and the title has been modified to Redevelopment Accountant. Council authorization to fill this position and <br />ratify new employee appointment of Maria Zamora to the position is also requested. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />No impact to General Fund by unfreezing position as it is fully funded by RDA. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached salary resolution, approve the attached job description and <br />unfreeze the position. <br />Concur: <br />City Manager <br />Attachments: Resolution <br />Job Description <br />WP51\AGENDA\RDACCT <br />0 <br />
