<br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
<br />Variance
<br />Woodrow Miller
<br />Mayor Huntoon advised that Planning Commission Resolution No. 778 consists of a Variance application requested by
<br />Mr. Woodrow Miller, to move a house onto a substandard sized lot.
<br />Mayor Huntoon said that a letter has been received from the applicant requesting withdrawal of the Variance appli-
<br />cation, therefore, no further action is necessary.
<br />Transportation
<br />SBTS Purchase
<br />Planning Director Williams read from his memorandum dated June 27, 1975, requesting minute action by the City
<br />Council of a Minute Order, stating the City's intention to enter into an agreement to purchase the transit assets
<br />of the City of San Bernardino for the total sum of $448,424, and that the City of Colton agrees to bear its pro-
<br />portionate share of the purchase. Mr. Williams advised that Colton's share is $22,376., and the first year's
<br />payment is in the City's share of S.B.T.S. operations for 1975-76, which is $68,962.
<br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Minute Order as stated, and the purchase of
<br />S.B.T.S. Vote was unanimous.
<br />CITY MANAGER REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
<br />Contracts
<br />Vehicle Abatement Program
<br />City Manager Huffaker referred to a memorandum dated June 16, 1975, from the Chief of Police Phil Elliott, regarding
<br />renewal of the City's contract with the State of California, Department of Highway Patrol for vehicle abatement in
<br />the City of Colton for the fisal year 1975-76.
<br />Mr. Huffaker advised the contract is renewed annually, and if Council concurs, Staff recommends the Police Chief
<br />be authorized to sign the contract, and adopt the resolution prepared for this procedure.
<br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution No. 3530. Vote was unanimous.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 3530 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON CALLING FOR A CONTRACT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA
<br />HIGHWAY PATROL FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM (AVA).

<br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:29 p. m., and reconvened at 9:13 p. m., all members present.
<br />Mayor Huntoon stated that Personnel Matters were discussed and Meet and Confer items.

<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, Mayor Huntoon adjourned the meeting at 9:15 p. m.,
<br />to meet for an Adjourned Regular Meeting on Wednesday, July 3, 1975, at 7:00 p. m., in the Council Chambers.

<br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
<br />Colton was held on the above given date at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers in City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding.
<br />ROLL CALL:
<br />Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, Gonzales and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City Manager
<br />Huffaker, Finance Director McGuire, Assistant to the City Manager Johnsen, Community Services Director Young, and
<br />Administrative Assistant Hadfield, Chief of Police Elliott, Fire Chief Temby, Chamber of Commerce Representative,
<br />and City Clerk Ramos.
<br />EXECUTIVE SESSION:
<br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 7:05 p.m. on request of Mayor Huntoon for Meet and Confer pur-
<br />poses. Council reconvened at 8:19 p.m. All members present.
<br />BUDGET REVIEW:
<br />City Manager Huffaker noted that the budget items presented for review were those specifically asterisked by the
<br />Council for reconsideration.
<br />Personnel - Assistant tothe City Manager
<br />As the first two budget items on Personnel Distribution and Management primarily refer to the position of Assistant
<br />to the City Manager, Mr. Huffaker referred Council to Page 24 and his memorandum containing a description of the
<br />position from its creation two years ago under the title Assistant City Manager to its modification as Assistant
<br />to the City Manager. There was no discussion of this item.
<br />Finance - Auditor Analyst
<br />Before discussing the position of auditor analyst, Councilman Gonzales requested that the Council return to this
<br />matter at the end of the budget review. The rest of the Council agreed and the item was passed over.
