2:31 COUNCIL MEETING December 16, 1975 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by the Reverend Father Michael A. Keane of Immaculate Conception Church. ROLL CALL: Council members present were Hayes, Spragins, Rehrer, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City Manager Huffaker, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. Absent was Councilman Gonzales. Mayor Huntoon read a letter from Councilman Gonzales explaining his absence tonight was due to his recent automobile accident. CONSENT CALENDAR: Mini i -Fac December 2, 1975 hlarran+c 4110 through 4331 23877 through 24163 December 5, 1975 Inclusive Grant Deed - Accept and authorize recording: Richard Anson Yazell and Frances Ellen Yazell, for road purposes. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve the Consent Calendar. Vote was unanimous. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Vacation Alley - Between "G" and "H" Streets, Resolution No. 3550. Mayor Huntoon declared the public hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavits of publication and posting, and reported no protests or objections had been received. Mr. Earl L. Young, Director of Community Services, reported this public hearing was set at the November 4, 1975 Council Meeting and pointed out a drawing showing the alley to be vacated in red. Mayor Huntoon asked if there was any one present wishing to be heard. No one came forward. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Spragins, to terminate the public hearing. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. 3556. Unanimous vote. RESOLUTION NO. 3556 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY EAST OF PEN14SYLVANIA AVENUE BETWEEN "G" STREET AND "H" STREET. Zone Change Planning Commission Resolution No. 790 Mayor Huntoon announced that this is the time and place fixed for Public Hearing on Planning Commission Resolution No. 790, Zone Change from C-2 to R-1, at 1333, 1345, 1355, 1365, and 1371 No. La Cadena Drive. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported no pro -tests or objections had been received. Planning Director Williams presented the Staff Report, saying that this zone change was initiated and approved by the Planning Commission. All of the lots involved, with the exception of one; which has an additional dwelling on it, are currently used as single family residential or R-1. Mr. Williams reported the zone change does not involve the professional building on the most easterly portion of the block. The R-1 zoning will conform with the present use of the property. Mayor Huntoon asked if their was any one in the audience wishing to be heard. No one spoke. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the public hearing. Unanimous vote. ORDINANCE NO. 1488 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 964, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. CORRESPONDENCE: Parks Reverend Father Michael Keane, Immaculate Conception Church Father Keane addressed the City Council, saying that a few years ago he had come before the Council to protest the building of a YMCA Branch Facility at Municipal Park.
