COUNCIL MEETING FEBRUARY 19, 1980 373 A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. ROI I CAI : Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Gonzales, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. Absent was Councilman Temby. CONSENT CALENDAR: Minutes February 5, 1980 Warrants Q 120205 120425 120485 120495 12050 12291 through 12440 Q February 15, 1980 Inclusive Bids Request authorization to advertise for five 1980 Police Patrol Units. Request authorization to advertise for Sewer System, Florez & Fernando Streets. Governmental Agencies Authorization to participate with Arrowhead Justice Association as a com- bined Entitlement Jurisdiction. Claims Fatria Chaney versus the City of Colton P. R. Carpenter versus the City of Colton Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: Professional Organizations Poker Parlor Club Mayor Gonzales read in full a report from the Poker Club Ad Hoc Committee, outlin- ing surveys taken in Cabazon, Gardena and Colton with regard to establishing a Poker Parlor Club in Colton. Mayor Gonzales advised that of 116 people interviewed in Colton, 46 were in favor of the Club, 58 were against, and 12 undecided, and in the final tally of votes cast by the committee regarding the Committee's recommendation to the Council of the approval of the Petition to have Card Clubs, 6 voted against approval and 3 voted for approval, with all 9 members voting. Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to accept the findings of the Poker Club Ad Hoc Committee and deny request to establish a Poker Parlor Club in Colton. Unanimous vote. Councilman Hayes and Mayor Gonzales commended the committee for their extensive report and a job well done. Proclamations Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation honoring International Business and Professional Woman's Club Week, February 17 through 23, 1980, which was presented to Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer.
