COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 19, 1980 <br />373 <br />A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above <br />given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales <br />presiding. <br />Mayor Gonzales led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by Councilman Leroy Rehrer. <br />ROI I CAI : <br />Council Members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, and Mayor Gonzales. Also <br />present were City Manager Gonzales, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />Absent was Councilman Temby. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />Minutes <br />February 5, 1980 <br />Warrants <br />Q 120205 120425 120485 120495 12050 <br />12291 through 12440 <br />Q February 15, 1980 Inclusive <br />Bids <br />Request authorization to advertise for five 1980 Police Patrol Units. <br />Request authorization to advertise for Sewer System, Florez & Fernando <br />Streets. <br />Governmental Agencies <br />Authorization to participate with Arrowhead Justice Association as a com- <br />bined Entitlement Jurisdiction. <br />Claims <br />Fatria Chaney versus the City of Colton <br />P. R. Carpenter versus the City of Colton <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Professional Organizations <br />Poker Parlor Club <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a report from the Poker Club Ad Hoc Committee, outlin- <br />ing surveys taken in Cabazon, Gardena and Colton with regard to establishing a <br />Poker Parlor Club in Colton. <br />Mayor Gonzales advised that of 116 people interviewed in Colton, 46 were in favor <br />of the Club, 58 were against, and 12 undecided, and in the final tally of votes <br />cast by the committee regarding the Committee's recommendation to the Council of <br />the approval of the Petition to have Card Clubs, 6 voted against approval and 3 <br />voted for approval, with all 9 members voting. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to accept the findings <br />of the Poker Club Ad Hoc Committee and deny request to establish a Poker Parlor <br />Club in Colton. Unanimous vote. <br />Councilman Hayes and Mayor Gonzales commended the committee for their extensive <br />report and a job well done. <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation honoring International Business and <br />Professional Woman's Club Week, February 17 through 23, 1980, which was presented <br />to Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer. <br />FES 1 J :960 <br />
