223 <br />COUNCIL MEETING <br />JULY 151, 1986 <br />A Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held <br />on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of <br />City Hall, Mayor Huntoon presiding. <br />Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Invocation was offered by John Seymour, Colton Courier. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor <br />Huntoon. Also present were City Manager Benest, City Attorney Edwards, <br />and City Clerk Ramos. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR: <br />(1) Minutes <br />O July 1, 1986 <br />(2) Warrants <br />(O 52250, 52251, 52271 through 52558 <br />0 126177 through 126413 <br />co July 10, 1986, inclusive <br />Q (3) Personnel <br />Amendment to Pay & Classification Plan for Police Officer <br />Trainee, RESOLUTION NO. R-111-86. <br />(4) Personnel <br />Set Public Hearing for Tuesday, August 5, 1986, amending <br />the Pay & Classification Plan to include Substation Elec- <br />trician I. <br />(5) RESOLUTION NO. R-112-86 - Consider Resolution designating <br />Signature Aughorization under Federal Civil Defense Act <br />of 1950. <br />(6) Parks <br />Request for use of Fleming Park by Chamber of Commerce for <br />9th Annual Little Miss Colton Pageant, Saturday, July 26, <br />1986, from 5:30 to 8:00 p. m. <br />(7) Special Assessments <br />Request to annex to the Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance <br />District, Annexations #2 and #3, Tracts #12197, #9964, #9966 <br />and #9968, RESOLUTION NO. R-113-86, RESOLUTION NO. R-114-86. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rios, to approve <br />the Consent Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Parking Regulations <br />Mayor Huntoon reported that at a previous Council Meeting, the Council <br />approved No Parking on the south side of Stephen Street, to which <br />certain residents in the neighborhood are now objecting. <br />Mayor Huntoon continued the Police, Fire and Community Services Depart- <br />ments have expressed the opinion that the new regulation is necessary <br />for safety reasons. Mayor Huntoon said representatives from the Fire, <br />Police, and Community Services Departments will be calling on each <br />resident to explain the reasoning, and to get the people's input be- <br />fore the Council Meeting of August 5, 1986. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros asked how the posting of the No Parking signs <br />came about. <br />JUL 15 1986 <br />
