R- 29-15 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING FOR <br />MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE AND DISPOSAL SERVICE RATES FOR SECOND <br />HALF OF FISCAL YEAR 2014/2015, AND ALL OF FISCAL YEAR 2015/2016. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a municipal corporation duly organized and existing <br />pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("City,,); <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has by previous action entered into a service agreement <br />with Republic Services for the collection and disposal of residential and commercial waste <br />within the City of Colton. <br />WHEREAS, annual rates are adjusted to include any increases to the local CPI and San <br />Bernardino County disposal fees. <br />WHEREAS, the service rates for fiscal year 2015/2016 have been included as Exhibit <br />A to this Resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED, AND ORDERED BY <br />THE CITY COUNCIL, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The above recitals are true and correct. <br />2. Intention: The City Council hereby declares its intention to provide and collect fees for <br />solid waste collection services provided to all record owners within the City, described in <br />Section 3 of this Resolution, from January 1, 2015, through June 30, 2016. <br />3. Description of Services: The services within the City include but are not limited to: <br />trash collection, trash disposal, yard waste collection and processing, recycle collection and <br />processing, and bulky -item collection. <br />4. Public Hearing: The City Council hereby declares its intention to conduct a Public <br />Hearing concerning the solid waste collection rates from January 1, 2015, through June 30, <br />2016. The public hearing will be held not less than forty-five (45) days after the City mails <br />notice of the public hearing as provided for in (6) below. <br />5. Public Hearing Date: Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing on these matters will <br />be held by the City Council on June 2, 2015 at 6:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as feasible in the <br />Council Chambers at City Hall, 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, CA. <br />
