ADJOURNED REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
APRIL 22, 1994
In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular
Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above
given date at 3:02 P. M., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor
Gonzales presiding.
ROLL CALL•
Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Cisneros, Cook, Beltran
and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City Attorney Biggs, Director
Gale Drews in place and stead of City Manager Young, and Deputy City
Clerk Delgado.
AGENDA REVIEW:
CONSENT CALENDAR:
Minutes - Item 1 of Agenda 4/19/94
Councilmember Bennett requested correction to the Minutes of 4/19/94, at
Page 9, Paragraph 6, to include the fact that the Police Chief discussed
that he increased patrol from 6 to 10 vehicles.
Motion by Councilmember Rios, seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, to
approve the Consent Calendar with the correction. Unanimous vote.
STAFF REPORTS:
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
Acting City Manager Drews read Interim Personnel Director Prindeville's
request for clarification of City Council's intent regarding the
personnel director recruitment. He indicated that 6 of 23 applicants
qualified and could proceed to the selection process with the
anticipation that a successful candidate could begin employment in June.
Councilmember Rios said that the recruitment should be re -opened for a
2-3 week period of time to attract a wider spectrum of people. He said
one week was not long enough. City Council agreed that the recruitment
be opened as soon as possible for a three-week period of time with the
same job description and specifications.
Brief discussion ensued as to the length of service of the interim
director. Council will go to the League of Cities to obtain the service
of an interim director until the current vacancy is filled.
CLOSED SESSION
APR 2 2 1994
