ADJOURNED CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 27, 1997 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 4:53 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, Mayor Gaytan presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Fire Chief Hendrix led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Councilmembers present were Sandoval, Bennett, Cook, Chastain, Hutton, Sanders, and Mayor <br />Gaytan. Also present were City Attorney Biggs, City Manager Freeman, and City Clerk Barrera. <br />Due to an on going medical problem Mayor Gaytan excused himself temporarily from the dais and <br />Mayor Pro -Tem Cook continued the Council Meeting. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Steve Anderson, District 5, commented on the following: Five minute time limit for Public Comment, <br />requested Council leave it as it is with five minutes for each item; Ordinance regarding employment of <br />the City Manager go to the voters in November addressing the "at will' provision; requested that the <br />Mentone/Crafton Plume be agendized; Legal Counsel and Block grant funding for mobile home <br />rehabilitation be made available to the residents of Rancho Med Mobile Home Park; encouraged <br />Mayor Gaytan and Councilmember Sandoval to attend the Homeowners Association meeting at <br />Rancho Med; Volunteer Fire Department concept; and repeal of the Utility Users Tax. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS: <br />San Timoteo Creek Flood Control Project <br />Moved/second, CM Sandoval/Bennett, to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-13-97. Motion <br />carried with Mayor Gaytan absent. <br />RESOLUTION NO. R-13-97 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />COLTON SUPPORTING A CITIZENS INITIATIVE TO <br />REPEAL SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY ASSESSMENT <br />DISTRICT 95-1; RE -DESIGN OF CERTAIN FLOOD <br />CONTROL IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE SAN TIMOTEO <br />CANYON FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT TO BE MORE <br />ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE; AND, REQUEST TO <br />COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO THAT SPECIAL <br />ASSESSMENTS IMPOSED ON PROPERTY LOCATED <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF COLTON LYING WITHIN <br />
