M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Gaytan, presiding, <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Pledge of Allegiance led by City Manager Garcia. <br />INVOCATION: <br />Invocation offered by Chaplain James Stovall <br />ROLL CALL: <br />PR£SSW <br />CM Donald J. Sanders <br />CM Betty L. Cook <br />CM James B. Grimsby <br />Mayor Karl E. Gaytan <br />City Manager Garcia <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain <br />CM Deirdre H. Bennett <br />CM John C. Hutton <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />❖ The Pirates were praised for taking First Place in the minor division; the team members were <br />introduced.. Also praised were the Ken Hubb All -Stars; the team players were introduced. <br />❖ Ken Conway, Fire Explorer of Post 211, listed the group's accomplishments and displayed <br />their trophies; certificates for the Victorville Muster were presented to the participants. <br />❖ The public was invited to the City's 111' birthday fireworks celebration, sponsored by local <br />businesses, on July 11, 1998, at the Colton High School Football Stadium. <br />❖ The passing of former Mayor and Council Member John M. Coltrin was announced. <br />❖ The community was invited to the Town Hall Meeting set for July 16, 1998, in District 3. <br />Also announced was Shurgard's Open House on July 11, 1998. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />RENT STABILIZATION <br />This was the time continued to for consideration of an amendment to the decontrol provision of the <br />rent stabilization ordinance. <br />Council Mins July 7, 1998 <br />
