M., in the Council Chambers of City <br />Hall, with Mayor Gaytan, presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />Fire Chief Tom Hendrix led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />INVOCATION <br />Chaplain Ed List offered the invocation. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />CM Donald J. Gaytan <br />Deputy City Clerk Delgado <br />CEREMONIAL MATTERS: <br />Presentations, Awards, Proclamations <br />CM Richard A. DeLaRosa <br />CM Betty L. Cook <br />CM Deirdre H. Bennett <br />City Attorney Carvalho <br />Certificate of Recognition was presented to the Colton High School Peer Assistance Program; <br />Program Coordinator Carol Miller spoke on behalf of the program and introduced its <br />Members. <br />Mayor Gaytari congratulated Saul Rios, a 12 -year old, going to Boston to represent the <br />Western United States and the City of Colton in Diamond Skills. He is one of four going to <br />compete in an all-stars game. Donations were pledged. <br />AGENDA RFVIEW: <br />City Attorney Carvalho said a meeting was held with an attorney for a City employee who filed a <br />claim against the City. She stated this was her first opportunity to report to the City Council and <br />that a request was made to add the item to tonight's agenda under Government Code Section <br />54956 as an item of anticipated litigation. She advised that findings had to be made that (1) the <br />item came up after the posting of the agenda and (2) there is a need to take immediate action. <br />City Council Mins July 6, 1999 <br />
