CITY OF COLTON CITY COUNCIL <br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />APRIL 11, 2000 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Colton was held on the above -given date at 6:40 p.m., in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett presiding. <br />FLAG SALUTE: <br />CM Grimsby led the flag salute. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT <br />CM Richard A. Sanders <br />STAFF PRESENT <br />City Manager Garcia <br />City Clerk Barrera <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />There were no speakers. <br />ACTION ITEM: <br />CODE ENFORCEMENT WORKSHOP: <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain <br />CM James B. Grimsby <br />City Attorney Martinez <br />Noting that this was the third quarterly workshop, Police Chief Crowe announced the meeting <br />would cover Title 19 changes drafted by City Attorney Marco Martinez and Sergeant Frank Coe, <br />namely, majority of general enforcement penalties, property maintenance, abandoned vehicles <br />and administrative fines and penalties. <br />Sergeant Coe said that he and City Attorney Martinez selected all of the Municipal Code sections <br />that covered the elimination of blight in the City and compiled them into one chapter so the <br />sections would be easier to understand and to work with. With passage of the proposed <br />ordinance, it was anticipated that the enforcement tools would be in place to help carry out the <br />code enforcement function, such as summer abatement provision and the administrative fines and <br />penalties program. Typographical errors were noted and inquiry was made on whether or not the <br />code violations could be consolidated for easy reference, such as weed abatement, alleys, green <br />City Council Adj Mins Apr 11, 2000 1 <br />
