CITY OF COLTON <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES <br />FEBRUARY 22, 2000 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above -given date in <br />the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California, at <br />5:32 P. M., Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett presiding. <br />Notice of Special Meeting was given on February 16, 2000, in compliance with Government <br />Code Section 54956. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />CM Donald J. Sanders CM Richard A. DeLaRosa <br />CM Kelly J. Chastain CM Betty L. Cook <br />CM James B. Grimsby Mayor Pro Tempore Deirdre H. Bennett <br />City Manager Garcia City Attorney Derleth <br />Acting City Clerk Delgado <br />FILLING OF MAYORAL VACANCY <br />The following persons spoke on the subject: Pam Anderson, Ann Kolman, John Mitchell, <br />Michael Berg, Jean Ferrante, William Bud Walls, II, Isaac Thomas Suchil, Jon Zane, and Gary <br />Thornberry. <br />Motion/Vote: After identifying this as a two -fold process, CM Sanders moved, seconded by <br />CM Grimsby, to appoint a successor for the unexpired term. Steve Anderson, resident, <br />commented. Motion carried unanimously. <br />CM Grimsby nominated CM Cook for the Mayor's position. Motion seconded by CM <br />DeLaRosa. CM Sanders nominated Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett for the Mayor's position. <br />Motion seconded by CM Chastain. <br />Mayor Pro Tempore Bennett inquired on how to proceed and asked if the motion allowed <br />Members to vote for their choice. After brief dialogue, she recognized that CM Sanders was the <br />CC Spec Mtg Feb 22, 2000 1 <br />
