2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-14-02 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 15.16 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE AND <br />ADOPTNG WITH AMENDMENTS THE 2000 EDITION OF THE <br />"UNIFORM FIRE CODE,' THE 1997 EDITION OF THE "UNIFORM FIRE <br />CODE STANDARDS" AND THE ADOPTION WITH AMENDMENTS OF <br />THE 2001 EDITION OF THE "CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE" (CALIFORNIA <br />CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 24) PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS <br />GOVERNING CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY <br />FROM FIRE AND EXPLOSION. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />WHEREAS, California Government Code Section 50022 et seq. authorizes the <br />City to adopt by reference the California Fire Code, 2001 Edition (California Code of <br />Regulations, Title 24), the Uniform Fire Code, 2000 Edition, with certain amendments <br />and appendices, and the Uniform Fire Code Standards, 1997 Edition (collectively <br />"UFC'); and <br />WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7 authorizes cities <br />to adopt the UFC with modifications determined to be reasonably necessary because <br />of local climatic, geological or topographical conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton desires to adopt the UFC, with necessary <br />amendments to assure the UFC is tailored to the particular safety needs of the City of <br />Colton as required by its unique climatic, geological and topographical conditions. <br />SECTION 1. FINDINGS. <br />A. To the extent that the following changes and modifications to the <br />UFC are deemed more restrictive than the standards contained in the UFC, thus <br />requiring that findings be made pertaining to local conditions justifying such <br />modifications, the City Council hereby finds and determines that the following <br />changes and modifications are reasonably necessary because of local climatic, <br />geologic or topographic conditions.
