1 RESOLUTION NO. 2546 2 RESOLUTION OF DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON TO INITIATE ON ITS OWN 3 MOTION PROCEEDINGS TO ANNEX CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON: 5 1, That the Council of the City of Colton, for the reasons hereinafter 6 7 mentioned, proposes to initiate on its own motion, as soon as it can legally do so, proceedings to annex to the City of Colton, all of the territory herein- 8 9 after described, as uninhabited territory, under provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 as set forth in Sections 35300 to 35325, 10 inclusive, of the Government Code of the State of California, 11 2, That the Council's reasons for proposing to initiate said annexation 12 proceedings are as follows: The annexation of the hereinafter described 13 territory will contribute to the orderly growth of the city, provide the proper 14 control of street layout, drainage, sanitary sewer design and insure the 15 proper use of land in conformity with the overall zoning plan of the city. 16 3, That the territory which the Council proposes to annex is hereby 17 identified as "South Colton Annexation No. 15" and consists of all that real 18 property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California, 19 described as follows: 20 21 Those portions of Sections 5 and 6, Township 2 South, Range 4 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridian, in the County of San 22 Bernardino, State of California, and more particularly described as follows: 23 Commencing at the center of Section 5, also being the centerline intersections of Van Buren Street and Michigan Street; thence west 24 along said centerline of Van Buren Street a distance of 674. 3 feet 25 to the true point of beginning; 26 Thence south along the west lines of Lots 37, 44, 53 and 60 of the East Riverside Land Company as per plat recorded in Map Book 6, Page 44, Records of San Bernardino County, a dis- 27 tance of 2660. 7 feet, more or less, to the San Bernardino 28 County Boundary line; thence west along said boundary line to an intersection with the west right of way line of La Cadena Drive, a county highway, said point also being a point in the 29 corporate limits of the City of Colton; thence northeasterly along said right of way line and said corporate limits the following 30 courses and distances; north 25° 03' 14" east a distance of 182. 60 feet; thence north 34° 32' 57" east a distance of 240. 99 31 feet; thence north 89° 50' 20" east a distance of 10 feet; thence 32 north 21 °21' 07" east a distance of 41, 30 feet; thence north 11 °
