CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 15,1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: MALIK DANTALA FREEMAN, CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL-TIlVIE <br />POSITION OF FIREFIGHTER SPECIALIST IN THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: APRIL 7,1997 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant Firefighter Specialist position in the Fire Department. <br />Attached is the job description for the classification; salary range is $2,708- $3,293 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position was conducted in coordination with four <br />other local agencies. Practical examinations were held by the Regional Fire Training Center at <br />Crafton Hills College. Written examinations were administered by the City of San Bernardino and an <br />eligibility list established. The candidate being referred for Council ratification meets the education <br />and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY: This is an approved general fund position in the fiscal year 1996-97 <br />budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6090-6091-1010 (salary) and Account No. 100-6090- <br />6091-1100 (salary related benefits). <br />Thomas T.
