Freeman, City Manager <br />From: Randy Anstine, Neighborhood Services <br />Subject: Ratification of Employee Appointment to the Full -Time <br />Position of Child Care Manager in the Neighborhood Services <br />Department <br />Date: April 2, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There presently exists one (1) vacant full-time Child Care Manager position in the <br />Neighborhood Services Department. Attached is the job description for the classification; <br />the salary range is $2,689 - $3,268 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said position was conducted. Oral examinations were held and an <br />eligibility list established. The candidate being referred for Council ratification meets the <br />education and experience requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY: <br />This is a grant funded position. The position is funded with California Department of <br />Education Grant for the 1996-97 fiscal year as follows: Account No. 206-7200-7202- <br />1010(salary) and Account No. 206-7200-7202-1'100 (salary related benefits). <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required as a condition of our annual Department <br />of Education Grant. This individual is directly responsible for the supervision and safety <br />of all children participating in the child care program. This individual is also responsible <br />for ensuring compliance with all state mandates. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the City Council ratify the employee appointment to the full-time position of Child <br />Care Manager as recommended by the Neighborhood Services Director. <br />Attachment: Job Descriptions <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />Item No. 10 <br />--- <br />
