CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM <br />Office of the Mayor and Council <br />COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 3,1997 <br />Date: May 29, 1997 <br />To: Honorable Mayor and Councilmembers <br />From: Councilmember Deirdre U. Bennett � <br />Subject: Amend the Current Travel Policy to Include Limits on Travel Range and Costs <br />I respectfully request for your consideration and concurrence to direct staff to amend the current <br />travel policy and establish a policy including, but not limited to, the following: <br />1) limit travel within the State of California; and <br />2) set a cost limit for travel & meeting expenditures—per person; and <br />3) any travel must have prior City Council approval; and <br />4) provide the Council with a monthly departmental report of all travel expenditures. <br />For your reference, I have attached the following documentation: <br />• May 5, 1997 Travel Policy memo from City Attorney <br />• April 29, 1997 Travel Policy memo from City Attorney <br />• May 6, 1997 Resolution: Relating to City Employee Travel Policy <br />• April 9, 1997 Travel Policy for Economic Development Trips memo from Councilmember Sandoval <br />• March 27, 1997 Revised Travel Policy memo from Finance Director Vega <br />Thank you for your consideration and consensus on this matter. <br />DBB:adf <br />Item No. 11 <br />
