CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF JUNE 3,1997 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />APPROVAL: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Acting City Manager <br />FROM: Timothy R. Wilson, City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Resolution of Necessity for the Colton Offsite Street Improvements for the <br />San Bernardino County Medical Center <br />DATE: May 27,1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Colton is constructing Improvements on Pepper Avenue, San Bernardino Avenue and <br />Meridian Street. These improvements are proposed to assist in providing access to the new San <br />Bernardino County Relocation Medical Center. The City of Colton is the lead agency for this <br />portion of the project "offsites". Additional road dedication is required prior to construction of this <br />project. These dedications are required in portions of the east side of Meridian Avenue between <br />"C" Street and Valley Boulevard and on the west side of Pepper Avenue, south of San Bernardino <br />Avenue. Additional dedication is being obtained separately from the County of San Bernardino but <br />does not involve a "resolution of necessity". The relocation of the Valley/Pepper intersection and <br />the I-10/Pepper interchange are related projects for which the county of San Bernardino is the lead <br />agency, and these two additional projects will be addressed in the future. <br />DISCUS LYSIS <br />The "Resolution of Necessity" is required to obtain the properties in question. Please see the <br />attached resolution text. (The text is submitted under separate cover by the Professional Law <br />Corporation of Branick, Alvarez and Battersby.) <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br />None known. These dedications are required to construct the proposed project to City Standards. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT• <br />The proposal is within the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding executed between the <br />County of San Bernardino and the City of Colton. <br />RECOMMENDATION- <br />S f recommends adoption of the "Resolution of Necessity". <br />Attachments: Resolution of Necessity <br />:amv Item No. 15 <br />I - _ <br />
