Barrera, City Clerk e(� <br />SUBJECT: Request for recruitment and ratification of employee appointment to the <br />part time position of Office Specialist II in the Office of the City Clerk. <br />DATE: June 9,1998 <br />BACKGROUND: There is one (1) vacant part-time Office Specialist 11 position in the Office of <br />the City Clerk. Attached is the job description of the classification; the hourly rate of pay is $9.33 <br />to $11.34. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list <br />established upon Council approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding availability for this approved general fund position in the fiscal <br />year 97-98 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6010-6010-1010 (salary) and Account No. <br />100-6010-6010-1100 (benefits). Because this is a part-time position, the only benefit related <br />expense is Medicare. <br />(V <br />Carolina P. Barrera, City Clerk <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: As soon as recruitment is completed. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: This position assists staff by receiving and directing <br />incoming telephone calls, provides counter service, commences mail processing and initiates <br />agenda preparation. <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council approve the recruitment and ratification of the <br />employee appointment to the part-time position of Office Specialist H as recommended by the City <br />Clerk. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Item # 8 <br />
