Approve And Adopt The Memorandum Of Understanding <br />2. Approve And Adopt The Salary Resolutions For The Police <br />Dispatcher/Records Clerk Unit <br />3. Establish a new position for the Unit <br />DATE: February 7, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: The Police Dispatcher/Records Clerk Unit was granted recognition by the City in <br />September of 1998. The Police Dispatcher/Record Clerks Unit have submitted compensation requests <br />to the City.. <br />DISCUSSION/'ANALYSIS: Representatives of the Police Dispatcher/Record Clerks Unit have <br />reached an agreement with the city on compensation issues. The agreement provides for most of the <br />same basic provisions agreed to for the Police Rank and File Unit and in addition creating the new <br />position of Sr. Police Dispatcher. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The additional cost of the agreement for the new unit is $20,005. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council approve the MOU reached with the <br />Police Dispatcher/Records Clerk Unit (Exhibit A), approve the 3 salary resolutions (current, effective <br />7/99, and effective 01/00) implementing the salary increases provided for in the MOU and approve <br />reclassification of 2 existing positions within the unit to the 2 positions of Sr. Police Dispatcher position <br />(Exhibit Q. <br />PREPARED BY: Judith Glithero <br />Attachment: Exhibit A MOU <br />Exhibit B Rate Table <br />Exhibit C New Position <br />Resolutions (4) <br />02/08/99 <br />Agnda 021798 PD Dispatchers <br />
