CITY OF COLTON <br />MEMORANDUM <br />the Mavor and Council <br />Date: January, 27, 2000 <br />To: Honorable Mayor and Council Members w <br />From: Council Member Betty CookA,_J, <br />Subject: National League of Cities — 2000 Annual Conference <br />Washington, D.C. <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 1, 2000 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Pursuant to Resolution No. R-26-97 "...relating to City Employee Travel", a request is being <br />submitted for travel and expenses which will be in excess of $1,000 per traveler. Attendance is in the <br />interest of the City and the travel is for city -related business or educational purposes. <br />DISCUSSION / ANALYSIS <br />The exact purpose of the travel is as follows: <br />I have been appointed to serve as a Member of the Finance, Administration and <br />Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Policy Committees for the National League of Cities (see <br />attached). This committee assists in developing NLC recommendations and reactions to <br />congressional and administrative initiatives. As the appointed Policy Committee Member, I <br />have been invited to attend the Congressional City Conference in Washington, D.C., on March <br />10-14, 2000. <br />Financial Impact: Funds are appropriated in City Council Travel & Meeting Account # 100-6000- <br />6000-2280 for the 1999/2000 fiscal year budget. <br />Travel Expenditures <br />Betty L.
