CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 8, 2003 ITEM #16 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: DILU DE ALWIS, FINANCE DIRECTOR Zk_ SUBJECT: Adopt Resolution Authorizing a Budget Adjustment for Mobil Resource Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) Grant Funds. DATE: December 8, 2003 BACKGROUND: The City of Colton has a need to replace some of its aging fleet of vehicles in various departments. South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) has mandated that a percentage of replacement vehicles must be alternate fuel vehicles (CNG), and to offset the cost of such a mandate grants are available from MSRC. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: On June 21, 2005 the City Council approved the acceptance of a grant from MSRC for the purchase of alternate fuel vehicles. However at the time that staff report was presented to the City Council for approval, a resolution to establish the budget was omitted in error. A budget adjustment is required in order to establish a budget for the purchase of the vehicles per the approved MSRC grant ML05006. FINANCIAL_ IMPACT: There is no General Fund impact for the purchase of these vehicles. The grant of $30,000 called for a matching fund of $50,010. This matching fund will be drawn from the Pollution Reduction Fund (214), which is funded by AB2766 AQMD funds paid at the time vehicles are registered in the State of California and received by the City of Colton on a per capita basis. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: None CONFLICT OF INTEREST — None RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution authorizing the establishment of the budget in accounts referenced in the resolution.
