APRIL 17, 1984 COUNCIL MEETING A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above given date at 7:30 p. m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Huntoon pre- siding. Mayor Huntoon led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Invocation was offered by Reverend Robert K. Johnson of the Colton Community Church. ROLL CALL: Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor Huntoon. Also present were City Manager Elliott, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. CANVASS OF ELECTION: City Attorney Edwards presented RESOLUTION NO. 4448 for Council's consideration and approval, relating to the Canvass of the General Municipal Election held April 10, 1984. Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve RESOLUTION NO. 4448. Unanimous vote. SOLUTION NO. 4448 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY ON APRIL 10, 1984, DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY THE PROVISIONS OF LAW. Oath of Office City Clerk Helen Ramos administered the Oath of Office to Mayor Albert A. Huntoon, Councilwoman Pauline A. Garcia, Councilman Leroy Rehrer, and City Treasurer Margaret A. Berkebile. City Clerk Ramos issued Certificates of Flection to each Official. Councilwoman Pauline Garcia said she would like to thank all of her committee members that had participated in her campaign, and all of the people that had given her their vote of conficence. Mrs. Garcia said she felt very good about this election, however, she also felt that City employees should hA allnwed to participate in the elections without a threat of the possible loss of their posi- tion, and be able to support the candidate of their choice, whom ever that candi- date may be. Mrs. Garcia concluded for those employees that did step forward and did participate, she would like to thank them. APR 17 1984
