SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 1, 1991 <br />A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Colton was held <br />on the above given date in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located <br />at 650 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, California, at 4:22 p. m., <br />Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />Notice of Special Meeting was given on July 31, 1991, in compliance <br />with Government Code Section 54956. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council Members present were Roman, Cisneros, Rehrer, Lofy, and Mayor <br />Gonzales. Also present were City Manager Stratton, City Attorney <br />Edwards, and City Clerk Ramos. <br />CLOSED SESSION: <br />Mayor Gonzales stated before the City Council retires to Closed Session, <br />was there anyone in the audience that desired to speak before the Council. <br />Mr. Joe Aklufi, Aklufi & Wysocki, 3403 Tenth Street, Riverside, stated <br />he would like to address Item No. 2, concerning Adams Advertising, and <br />would reserve his comments until after Closed Session. <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 4:26 p. m., to discuss <br />Pending Litigation, pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b)(1), <br />and reconvened at 4:47 p. m., all Members present. <br />Adams Advertisin <br />City Manager Stratton advised the Planning Commission previously approved <br />permits for a Variance and CUP to allow Adams Advertising to erect ap- <br />proximately 10 billboard signs along the I-10 and I-215 freeways. Mrs. <br />Stratton stated Staff, however, has reviewed the Variance and CUP and <br />have found problems with some of the findings, there were inappropriate <br />findings, and Staff feels this matter should be referred back to the <br />Planning Commission with the direction that the Commission initiate <br />proceedings to revoke the Variance and CUP. <br />Mr. Joe Aklufi, Aklufi & Wysocki, 3403 Tenth Street, Riverside, repre- <br />senting Adams Advertising, spoke against any revocation of permits, <br />stating his client has already invested a great deal of money. Mr. <br />Aklufi said the Council should seriously consider these rules, as his <br />client has played by the rules as instructed and has complied with <br />everything required.
