In accordance with <br />Meeting of the Cita <br />given date at 6:02 <br />Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL <br />ADJOURNED CI'T'Y COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 27,E 1993 <br />notice duly and legally given, an <br />Council of the City of Colton was <br />R. M., .in the Council Chambers of <br />Adjourned Regular <br />held on the above <br />City Hall, Mayor <br />Councilmembers present were Bennett, Sandoval, Rios, Cisneros, Cook, <br />Beltran and Mayor Gonzales. Also present were City attorney Brown and <br />City Clergy. Ramos. City Manager Lewis was absent. <br />AGENDA. REKIEW: <br />None. <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />The City Council adjourned to Closed Session at 6:04 F. M., to discuss <br />Personnel Matters, pursuant. to Government Code Section 54957. The <br />Council reconvened at 6:25 R. M., with all Councilmembers present as <br />heretofore. City Attorney Brown announced the City Council., discussed <br />filling, by interim appointment, the position of City Manager vacated by <br />the resignation of Mr. Marls Lewis. He advised that this action could <br />take place in open session. <br />Motion made by Council.member Sandoval, seconded by Council.member <br />Bennett, to fill the present vacancy by appointing Mr. Jerry 'young as <br />Acting City Manager, effective immediately through July 1, 1.993, to <br />allow the City Council a period of time to search for a. City Tanager. <br />Motion passed with Councilmembers Rios and Beltran voting "No." <br />Fire Le artment - Ambulance Service <br />Fire Chief Ball reported on the progress charted by his department <br />.beginning with Red Cross First Aid Certified firefighters to the present <br />highly trained medical organization and delivery system which occupies <br />80% of the Fire Department's time and resources. Having successfully <br />met legal and administrative challenges, Fire Chief Hall proposed that <br />the City Council continue to provide a better system of patient care by <br />establishing the City of Colton's Fire. Department Paramedic Ambulance <br />Service. A system that will not require additional personnel. A system <br />that will. respond faster and provide a more personalized level of care <br />from the time of the initial call to the time of delivery to the <br />hospital, when necessary. A system that w.1.11 become self-supporting. <br />Fiscal Year 1.993-94 proposed EMS budget will. equal $138,342. It is <br />expected that $75,342 will be used for ongoing paramedic expenses. <br />Staff estimated a first year revenue projection of $250,000. <br />
