1 1! RESOLUTION NO. 2996 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON IMPLEMENTING CHAPTER 10, DIVISION 4, TITLE 1 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA (SECTIONS 3500 ET SEQ.) CAPTIONED "PUBLIC EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS". WHEREAS Chapter 10, Division 4, Title 1 of the Government Code 6 ii ,Iof the State of California was amended effective January 1, 1969 7 :'for the purpose of promoting improved employer-employee relations public employers and their employees by establishing uni- 9 form and orderly methods of communication between employees and i 10 Ithe public agencies by which they are employed; and 11 WHEREAS Government Code Section 3507 empowers a City to adopt 12�!reasonable rules and regulations after consultation in good faith 1311with representatives of its employee organizations for the admini- 14�lstration of employer-employee relations; and 01� WHEREAS the City of Colton desires to adopt such reasonable 01'rules and regulations as authorized by law: NOW THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HERE - 18 '!BY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: 19 1SECTION 1. TITLE OF RESOLUTION 20 1 This Resolution shall be known as the Employer -Employee Rela- 21 ,tions Resolution of the City of Colton. 22 :,SECTION 2. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE i 23:! The purpose of this Resolution is to implement Chapter 10, 24'bivision 4, Title 1 of the Government Code of the State of Calif- 251iornia (sections 3500 et seq.) captioned "Public Employee 26'1'Organizations," by providing orderly procedures for the adminis- 27 itration of employer-employee relations between the City and its 28 ,�employee organizations and for resolving disputes regarding wages, 29 ;!hours, and other terms and conditions of employment. 0 �SECTION 3.
