Lavin, Water Utilities Manager <br />SUBJECT: Date: <br />Approval to Close Agua Mansa Road, South <br />Side, from Riverside Drive, East to Rancho <br />Avenue or onstruction o t e SARI Line <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The contract for the construction of the SARI Line has been awarded by the Santa <br />Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA). The construction work is to begin on <br />August 15, 1994. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />The construction of the SARI Line will take the entire width of Agua Mansa Road, <br />from Riverside Drive east to Rancho Avenue, however, only the south side of the <br />road is in the City of Colton's jurisdiction. In order to protect the public from any <br />hazard occurring from the construction, the consulting engineers, CH2M Hill is <br />recommending that Agua Mansa Road be closed during the construction period of <br />the SARI Line. SAWPA will be requesting the County to close the north side of <br />Agua Mansa Road. Construction is expected to last approximately one month from <br />the date of closure. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends that Council approve the closure of Agua Mansa Road, south <br />side only, from Riverside Drive to Rancho Avenue beginning August 15, 1994. <br />LJ/Ij <br />CITY MANAGER'S CONCURRENCE•&AAM" <br />Attachments: <br />Page i of -.---Item No. <br />
